Slow Cooker Method
1 c. wheat
2 1/2 c. water
1/2 tsp. salt
Pick over wheat for any foreign bits, then rinse. Place ingredients in slow cooker. Cook 6-8 hours or overnight on low. Eat in the morning with a little sugar and milk, just like oatmeal.
Makes 6-8 servings.
Cooked wheat may be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
