1 c. wheat
2 c. boiling water
1/2 tsp. salt
Pick over wheat for foreign bits, then rinse. Place ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour or more tender. Drain and cool.

Slow Cooker Method

Can I Store Cooked Wheat?
Yes you can!
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
To freeze, spread cooked wheat in a thin layer on a cookie sheet and freeze overnight. Then divide the wheat into small freezer bags and place them in the freezer so you can thaw out the only the amount of wheat you need.
